Or more precisely, can some sex offenders be "cured"? Well, it depends on the individual we must deal with! If the sex-offender's "problem" is of this life only... then yes, it is quite likely he or she can be helped. But, if the problem of his or MIND goes back to issues of past lives, then the likelihood of eliminating the "issue" is questionable.
And most importantly in my opinion... not unless the person working with the sex offender knows how to help the sex offender eliminate the deep-seated psychological CAUSE behind his or her specific mental illness! You see, the sex offender is driven by a deep-seated and fully repressed (which means entirely non-Conscious) "Misperception" taken-on by the sex offender's MIND in early childhood regarding him or herself.
This psychological [when I use the term "psychological"... it means a fully non-Conscious belief a child's MIND has taken-on regarding him or herself in early childhood [between one and three years of age]. And the child's MIND has developed a pattern of behavior to try and reduce the intense ANXIETY this repressed belief creates within the person... each time this Misperception is stimulated. And it is his or her MIND that takes external events and plays these against the non-conscious MIND-level of this person. The problem is one that is quite involved mentally... obviously.
So, we are talking about the training, experience, and level of empathy possessed by the Gestalt Psychotherapist... who must of course have recveived his or her own program of therapy.
This should present something that people can speculate about, wonder about, and perhaps even desire that it might be possible!
