WHAT DOES "MENTAL" REFER TO?
The term "mental" refers to the MIND, and the MIND is invisible to the brain and Man's physical senses. In contrast we have "thinking," which is what the brain does. It thinks.
Therefore, it is perfectly reasonable for intelligent people to gravitate to that which to them is natural and relatively "safe" to deal with. The problem with this reasonable thinking is that it has nothing to do with "mental health"... because the term "mental" refers to the MIND of Man... which is not the brain; is not physical; and is actually invisible to the brain and Man's physical senses.
So, how is the field of psychology dealing with the growing problems of "mental health"?
The simple answer is... they are failing to do so... in a big way!
This raises the question... What can we do about it?
Let's begin to deal with this problem in our next blog.
Peace, 1 Brother James, James W. Patterson, Ph.D.
