Question #1: What does "PTSD" stand for?
Answer: It is a group of words that are intellectually mistaken in regards to what they mistakenly stand for... which is "psychological" and not physiological. It is due to a person's MIND, and not to his or her brain.
Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. Actually, what the letters "PTSD" refer to is what an intellectual would say in regards to the phenomenon observed by him or her regarding someone who has experienced a traumatic event... and is [apparently...mentally disturbed by that event]!
Unfortunately, the field of Psychology began a movement to eliminate the "MIND" in the late 1930's ... due in part to the fear of B.F. Skinner... [of his own MIND] and his love of "Intellectualism" ... which is the term for an intellectual who is confined to the brain and thinking, while denying the MIND and the energy of the MIND [which is what we refer to as "emotion"]. And emotion does not mean "feelings"!
The way to HELP VETERANS deal with PTSD is to help them deal with the MIND within them. And to do this... one must be helped to "experience" his or her MIND, and one must have gone through one's own program of Gestalt Psychotherapy... so as to help one awaken to the subtle existence of his or her MIND... and something of how it operates?
IN OTHER WORDS... THERE IS NO WAY ANYONE CAN BECOME AN EFFECTIVE THERAPIST FOR VETERANS UNTIL AND UNLESS THAT SOMEONE HAS BECOME FAMILIAR WITH HIS OR HER OWN MIND.
So, before throwing away tons of cash on intellectually contrived physical ideas ... please seek the path that will actually help Veterans!
This sketch may be helpful in visualizing the existence of the MIND:
#1 is the physical dimension of Man, it includes the brain and thinking about things...including thoughts fed to it by one's MIND. I refer to such MIND-level thoughts as "D-Think". And D-Think stands for "Delusional Thinking"... or thoughts fed to one's brain to cause one's brain to "think" certain thoughts. "D-Think" is a primary way in which one's MIND uses repressed emotions fed to one's brain to cause a person to "think" and act in certain ways... intended to insure that deeply repressed bits of trauma remain hidden from one's Conscious Awareness remain hidden "Within" one's MIND.Do NOT FORGET that the MIND is not physical, and is not accessible via one's brain and thinking! And a person's reactions to "PTSD " are orchestrated and arranged by one's MIND! The "illness" called PTSD is associated with deeply repressed "Misperceptions" from early childhood... held deep within one's MIND. And the MIND cannot be accessed by the brain or thinking. So... any "plans aimed at "treating" Veterans by "behavioral psychology"...will be much ado about.... nothing positive! Simply throwing $$$ at the problem of increasing suicides is NOT THE ANSWER!
