Some years ago, when I was younger and thought I knew a lot about a number of things... I came up with the term "Esochology". And I intended Esochology to specifically refer to the operations of the MIND and Spiritual dimensions "within" Man. I used the Greek term Eso, which the Greeks used to refer to the invisible aspects of Man [the MIND and Spiritual dimensions], and their term "logia" which refers to a study of a given phenomenon... in this case, the MIND and the Spiritual dimensions of Man.
So, for me, the term Esochology refers to the study of the MIND and Spiritual realms "Within" Man [both of which are invisible to the physical dimensions of Man]; and how they secretly operate to form what we can observe of a person's behavior, attitude, and beliefs? The term for this "study" would be "esoteric".
[From Websters: esoteric adj. 1.Intended for or understood by only a small group].
What enables a person to engage in such study would be a keen interest in the operations of the MIND and Spiritual realms "within" Man... both of which are invisible to one's physical senses. Therefore, such an interest would coincide with what we might refer to as an "Enlightened" individual. But what does the term "Enlightened" mean? Well, for me it means something other than intellectually gifted, or what an IQ test might measure. For me, Enlightened means an increased level of Consciousness [which I believe is the Energy of the Soul].
And how does one acquire an increase in Consciousness? One does so by "converting bits of Karma into Consciousness [otherwise known as "Knowledge" or "Wisdom"], and how does one do this, you might wonder? I believe it is accomplished by exercising two values: That of Acceptance, and that of Forgiveness. And to understand this, one must become aware of how we Souls "reclaim our Spirituality from the physical plane of existence". And to understand this, one must comprehend how the Law of Karma works... and what its purpose is?
The seemingly natural desire of Man is to acquire phenomena... all kinds of phenomena of this physical plane of existence. This is desire, and when it is fulfilled, one has just exchanged his or her own Spiritual Energy for ATTACHMENT TO SOMETHING IN THE CREATION. In other words, everything in Creation can be acquired... if one is willing to meet the price? And as far as "price" is concerned... hardly anyone is aware of the ACTUAL COST of one's Attachment ?
It is not money. It is one's Spiritual Energy in the form of Attachment! The more one is attached to things in the Creation, the more of one's Spiritual Energy must be diverted into acquiring what one desires! And take a look around yourself, and look at what makes people happy? And just how much are people ATTACHED to what they possess? Life in the Illusion is either-or. And very few realize what the cost of attachment is!
The Law of Karma states that every bit of one's Karma must be paid back before one can leave. But none of this is part of what we teach in the West. And attachment is not what the brain thinks about. And all of this is part of what Esochology deals with.
